Litentry Partners with Automata Network to Strengthen Privacy Protection in its Identity Computation System
We are happy to share about our latest collaboration with Automata Network to strengthen privacy protection for user data across Litentry’s identity computation layer. As an introduction, Automata Network is a decentralized service protocol providing middleware-like traceless privacy services for dApps across the Web3 ecosystem.
Safeguard user data in maximum effort
As the amount of digital interactions on the blockchain increase, users are demanding connected experiences that are reliable, secure and trustworthy. Stringent privacy standards will be indispensable to protect user data storage and computation, and the partnership with Automata Network will allow us to safeguard against potential data leaks during the process of identity generation.
Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)
With its secure hardware approach based on Intel SGX, (a Trusted Execution Environment), Automata ensures that identity computation conducted by Litentry is carried out in an isolated and shielded environment, free from the prying eyes of any malicious actors on the move. In this way, data loaded in the TEE are protected with respect to confidentiality and integrity.
The implementation of TEE plays an important role in the Litentry Identity Aggregation protocol. The Automata team has been researching TEE for many years and have hands-on experience in implementing distributed, high-performance and privacy-preserving systems.
Litentry will utilise Automata’s compute node, Geode, to protect users’ privacy in its two important pallets: Account Linker & Identity Aggregation. The computing process of account verification and identity aggregation will be implemented in Automata’s isolated execution environment, which eliminates the risk of data leakage with computation results only being decrypted by the user’s private key. Significantly, even nodes from Litentry or Automata cannot access such data.
Quotes from Litentry and Automata Network:
Litentry
“Innovations tend to stack, and the world of decentralized digital identity will prove to be particularly powerful when privacy, already a priority in our current work, becomes woven into more and more of Litentry’s existing architecture.”
— Hanwen Cheng, CEO at Litentry
Automata Network
“The technical prowess of Automata offers several attractive possibilities, particularly around the computation and administration of the blockchain network. It’s great to see how privacy will help to push for wider adoption of standards-based digital identity systems.”
— Deli Gong, Co-Founder at Automata Network

About Litentry
Litentry is a cross-chain identity aggregation protocol that features a Substrate-built network, mobile app and identity-related tools. The protocol enables identity linking across different networks and facilitates decentralization and transparency in identity credit computation. Litentry provides a secure vehicle through which users manage their identities and dApps obtain real-time credit/reputation of an identity owner across different blockchains.
