We’re thrilled to announce our technical partnership with ARPA.

ARPA is a blockchain-based layer 2 solution for privacy-preserving computation, enabled by cryptographic Multi-Party Computation (“MPC”) which is secure, compatible and scalable.

What is MPC?

Multi-party computation (MPC or SMPC) is a cryptographic protocol that distributes a computation process across multiple parties, where no single party can view the data of others. In other words, MPC allows the joint analysis of data without sharing them.

The synergy of DID and MPC

ARPA’s MPC protocol creates ways for multiple entities to collaboratively analyze data and extract data synergies while keeping each party’s data input private and secure. It allows secret sharing of private data, and the correctness of computation is verifiable using information-theoretic Message Authentication Code.

As Litentry serves as an identity aggregator for users’ on-chain data, privacy lies in our core value and it’s our top priority to guarantee data safety.

Under this partnership, both teams will be working closely to explore matching target user without exposing user data as well as analyzing user on and off-chain data in a privacy-preserving way with the ARPA’s leading MPC technology

Moreover, on a higher level, we will be cooperating to contribute to the standard of decentralized identity and MPC.

About ARPA

ARPA is a blockchain-based solution for privacy-preserving computation, enabled by Multi-Party Computation (“MPC”). Founded in April 2018, the goal of ARPA is to separate data utility from ownership and enable data renting.

Developers can build privacy-preserving dApps on blockchains compatible with ARPA. Some immediate use cases include: credit anti-fraud, secure data wallet, precision marketing, joint AI model training, key management systems, etc. For example, banks using the ARPA network can share their credit blacklist for risk management purposes without exposing their customer data or privacy.

About Litentry

Litentry is a cross-chain identity aggregation protocol that features a Substrate-built network, mobile app and identity-related tools. The protocol enables identity linking across different networks and facilitates decentralization and transparency in identity credit computation. Litentry provides a secure vehicle through which users manage their identities and dApps obtain real-time credit/reputation of an identity owner across different blockchains.
