Ensuring your security, privacy, and trust is our top priority and we thank you for your continued understanding and support.

Dear Litentry Community,

We sincerely apologize for the confusion and concern caused by the recent unauthorized fraudulent tweet in our community, which occurred due to a security breach on our social media channel.

Incident Overview

On December 22nd, at approximately 10:00 UTC+8, an unauthorized tweet promoting a fake “Christmas Event” was posted on our Twitter. We promptly removed the tweet, logged out of all devices accessing our Twitter account, and elevated our security to a higher level.

Immediate Actions Taken

In response to this incident, we have:

  • Enhanced our login procedures.
  • Educated our marketing team about heightened privacy management on Web 2.0 platforms.
  • Upgraded security for all of our Web 2.0 social media accounts.

We assure you that these steps will significantly reduce the likelihood of such incidents in the future.

At Litentry, our commitment to privacy protection is unwavering. As we further evolve and step into the thriving Bitcoin ecosystem, we face escalating challenges; our expansion into new markets brings a heightened risk of attempted security breaches. We remain vigilant and are constantly improving our security protocols to prevent such breaches.

It’s crucial to clarify that the hacking of our Twitter account does not reflect the security of our products. Our technology, protocols, and product security are designed to safeguard user data and privacy. The compiled code of Litentry TEE is attested with Intel SGX; it is open-sourced, ensuring secure processing of user credentials within the TEE side chain and therefore beyond our team’s access. This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of privacy-focused decentralized identity systems such as Litentry. Our commitment to exploring and enhancing privacy in the Web3 world remains unwavering.

Looking Forward

This incident highlights the importance of cyber security in Web2 social media, prompting us to further invest in developing identity infrastructure for the Web3 world and privacy. We apologize for any social media disruptions and appreciate our community’s support.

As a reminder, an up-to-date list of our active websites can be found at https://linktr.ee/litentry. We look forward to further developing best measures and practices around privacy and security for our community, while stepping further into the Bitcoin ecosystem along with other popular ecosystems to come!

Ensuring your security, privacy, and trust is our top priority and we thank you for your continued understanding and support.
